Firecakes ... when we lived in Colorado we cut and split logs for use in our wood stove to keep us warm all winter. When we were done with the saw part of the project, we had LOTS of sawdust. I thought there must be some use for it rather than just sprinkling it back into the forest. It was like a free craft project just waiting to be discovered! After a little research I decided to make sawdust fire starters. They work awesome for starting a fire in a wood burning stove, fireplace or fire pit... no toxic chemicals required! Great for camping or beach fires. So much easier than messing with precariously placed stacks of kindling or newspaper!
Eco-friendly fire starters. Created from sawdust and recycled candle wax.
